The purpose of this diploma is to equip tutors, teachers and trainers with the ability to, or plan to take on, the full teaching profession with the necessary expertise, understanding, and knowledge to be able to successfully fulfill the teacher’s full job and obtain Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills status (QTLS).

How can I be taught?
The majority of lessons will be active learning in a classroom. There are no additional charges associated with the program. Through the course, students are able to access a fully-stocked library as well as the college’s online Learning Environment (Moodle) in which class resources as well as additional reading materials are uploaded each week.

Entry Requirements
What are the admission requirements?
Students must possess at minimum at least a Level 3 qualification in a particular subject they teach in. A degree, or a Level 3 or 4 professional qualifications is also required.
Placement
Students must hold an unpaid or volunteer teaching position in the subject they wish to teach in that is at least 100 hours of instruction over during the 2 years. The course must be based with students aged 14+ as well as every aspect of designing, delivering and assessing learning. Students also need access to a subject expert mentor who will commit to attending 4 times over the two years of the program. Students have the responsibility of making their the arrangements for placement.
English as well as Maths
You must to have a level 2 qualification of English prior to enrollment. All applicants undergo initial assessments in both writing and reading to make sure that your current abilities in literacy will allow you to write your assessments. It is not necessary to have any specific Mathematics qualification to enroll in this program, however it is important to know that teachers should be able to pass the level 2 exam in mathematics.
Higher Education Fees
All students are required to pay the full amount for Higher education courses. The course fees can be paid three installments during the academic year.
