Our country is so fortunate to have 45 billionaires when the government and country is badly bankrupt. Also how could they make these billions when the country doesn’t have money to buy essential medicines.

They are billionaires because they run businesses effectively, they run to make money, not as charity. They have staff who are paid well to make profits, not to strike and protest for the slightest things, the country will have money to buy essential goods when they stop giving everything free or at subsidised rates!

Are we to be proud of our heritage as the only nation that provides free public service and welfare such as free education up to University level, free lunch, free books and free uniform, comprehensive Health Services etc, that involve employment to thousands of educated men and women. Can we afford these services even now?

Let’s be honest. Sri Lanka being a free country is a fallacy. It is free for the rich. They pay no tax and accumulate wealth by corrupt means. Very few are honest. Majority are down trodden and crushed. The so called free benefits to the downtrodden is miniscule compared to the looting being carried out by the rich.
