Fonseka Makes A Verbal Blow At Sajith

Sri Sunday, 01 January 2023 03:08 PM

But his father won the hearts and minds of people with his Gamudawa projects. ..He built thousands of houses for people …I don’t find any thing wrong in donating buses ..This is nothing a symbolically done to inspire people …I think now this time SJB has more vote bank than anyone else ..if only SJB and JVP work as one political entities they have a good chance …

SF Sunday, 01 January 2023 03:23 PM

How come the Leader, the Chairman, or any other MP of SJB has not made any comment about the Minister of Health who is not a Chemist, Pharmacologist, or Doctor going to Chennai to examine the quality of medicines made by a blacklisted company? Does SJB condone Minister’s actions?

ACA Sunday, 01 January 2023 03:23 PM

Fonseka also should understand that he has to be a team player to be successful in next election as a party. Military men are very unsuccessful in politics all over the world.

L Jaya Sunday, 01 January 2023 03:49 PM

SF appears to be playing games to become the SJB leader. He is not a clean character, recently there was a report to say the vehicle which is being used by his wife Anoma, purchased through leasing in arrears for 30 months and using without any problem. How could the three wheelers being harassed for non payments. Seen justifying his cause with flimsy excuses Should be sacked from the party so that he can move to NPP

In my view, Sarath Fonseka is one of the few politicians in Sri Lanka who has the absolutely necessary human prerequisites and leadership qualities to drain and eliminate the corrupt political swamp that has led Sri Lanka into the abyss with the help of other competent men and women! !! In addition, as President of this country, he would also be in a position to overcome the ethnological problem areas together with those affected and to bring about a lasting political solution! He also brings with him the stamina needed to overcome the economic crisis and enjoys respect and prestige in other parts of the world! Sri Lanka owes him a lot!!!

Who makes a great leader? Sunday, 01 January 2023 04:37 PM

General Fonseka, Driving a bus has nothing to do with leadership. Mathias Cormann, current OECD Secretary General was once upon a time a gardener in Perth. Sri Lanka is stuck in this backward era because of backward thinking like what you are exhibiting. None of the current members of parliament are qualified leaders otherwise Sri Lanka would not be in this predicament.

At least he is doing that, he does not have pending finance payments for luxury cars.

DW Sunday, 01 January 2023 06:52 PM

Criticizing a leader publicly is not considered a professional act. When you are working in a team environment, there will always be things that others including your leader do that you don’t agree with. There are professional ways to resolve issues rather than the public criticism, which can negatively affect other team members. Fonseka is yet to realise that working in politics and working in military are two different ball games.

Bandu Sunday, 01 January 2023 10:22 PM

Possibly he has not played a team game where the captain leads and if you disagree still you hold your tongue. If you feel very very strongly you can resign and criticise. SF is still Army mindset. He is a loner only.

K.L Pathirana Sunday, 01 January 2023 10:40 PM

Didn’t matter what SF say, he absolutely has no leadership qualities to hold a responsible position in the government. During the last government he was given the Ministry of WLC. Instead of listening and adhering to professional advise and opinions, he decided to initiate a Gazette acquiring firearms distributing to farmers with the intention of resolving the human elephant conflict. His ability to understand a problem really stinks, zero in intellectualism.

AkaAD Monday, 02 January 2023 01:49 AM

Fonseka either should get on board with SP or leave the party. He has been indirectly criticizing Sajith for a long time now. Fonseka has become a nuisance to SJB

Dana Monday, 02 January 2023 02:39 AM

Regardless of the motive, it is a good deed to provide buses to schools without using public funds. Apart from criticizing the government as the leader of the opposition, he is doing a positive process that facilitates the public. Those who criticize this should compare this with the corrupt politicians in this country who handout sil cloths, clocks, commodes etc with public money.

I think the cardinal made a mistake in crossing the line between religion and politics but he did so with good intentions after the Easter Sunday attacks and lack of any serious action thereafter.Politics is a dirty game anywhere in the world.Where the end justifies the means and there are no rules. And with Sri Lankans there is no unity or patriotism just self interest and corruption. But what a beautiful land.If only there could be peaceJust one dedicated leader would have done it but we have had none, only divisive politics

Sam Sen Monday, 02 January 2023 05:12 AM

SL needs a visionary leader who is strong in implementing the legal system and economic development programs. Sajith Premadasa has the potential to fill that vacancy with some strong support from a good team. Sarath Fonseka is too old and too old styled to know even what he doesn’t know. Besides, Sarath Fonseka is a racist and it was his generation that brought the country to this level. He may be, from time to time, cracking some village jokes but he is not useful for anything more than that. Sajith definitely has the potential, education, economic understanding etc. He need to be bit more decisive and firm. He should have a strong support from experts of the right calibre. Right thinking educated people should line up with Sajith to make his hands stronger. After all, you stupid 6.9million idiots made a mockery by voting for a dud like Gotabaya Rajapakse who didn’t know anything about running a country. By supporting Sajith, you will feel so much better for sure.

Why I disqualifying SF consider as true leader, this is my story, I used to park my vehicle parallel to Kobbekaduw agricultural research Center,Colombo 7,opposite to SF’s official residence long before he acquired the place but after he domiciled, ordered his security not allow to park vehicles other than which visit him, by the time I used to park my vehicle there, more than 10years,so after that, most of the time that parking lot was empty, but we were not allowed, what a selfish individual this SF,I feel he seems trying to elevating himself to higher political position by camouflaging his true character

Blessing Monday, 02 January 2023 09:05 AM

If someone publicly expresses his opinion against his leader, he is not a team player. He must be ousted forthwith.

Dudely Siriwardana Monday, 02 January 2023 11:57 AM

SP has shown his maturity in this crisis circumstances. He is capable of handling any issue and has built the strongets party at present. By not accepting be under GR he has secured his future. SF tells everything and anything without much thinking but he is good man too….

Volker Metzger Monday, 02 January 2023 01:10 PM

In view of the problems to be overcome in Sri Lanka in the next two years, the question of the leadership qualities of a personality who is to change and shape politics in the future is a very legitimate and necessary question !!! Who in the opposition parties in Sri Lanka, which is supposed to bring about this change for the better, has such qualifications and competences! Premadasa is not, various of his past activities have shown that! Field Marshal Fonseka is what he has proved to be an excellent military leader and as such he has always led military teams! Doubting his ability to work as a team in the political field, as has happened here in some comments, suggests a certain ignorance about the skills in the military field in the same! Sri Lanka needs a highly competent, team-oriented and strong political leadership and Fonseka can certainly make a significant contribution to this! If not him, then who !!!?

Karalasingam Sivalingam Monday, 02 January 2023 01:33 PM

At least Sajith does something others have not done, ask yourself what you have done as a politician, critising others is an easy task, executing a task is difficult.

Former Anandian Monday, 02 January 2023 01:48 PM

I knew SF from Ananda College days, but don’t agree with his comments on party leader. If he is not happy then he should go somewhere else. He next in line in party leadership , if he really wants to defeat this corrupt president and government then he should stick with the SJB and try and defeat this corrupt government at the next election, My comments apples to Rajith also.

Kumar Ranasinghe Tuesday, 03 January 2023 04:29 AM

SF if you can’t be a team player and always winging please quit and go on your own. You still have not understood how to survive in field of politics and there is a big difference between political tactics and military tactics. Sajith is engaging great long term projects which yield long term benefits for poor masses in this country.

Sammy Tuesday, 03 January 2023 10:04 AM

Sarath Fonseka should also learn that to belong to any Party or team he should be a team player and any differences of opinions or view points should be ironed out internally and not publicised. As an ex leader of the Army he should know it better. Otherwise he should quit the team.

Follower of juztice Tuesday, 03 January 2023 10:09 AM

No foreign agencies will support a country which is led by an ex-military personnel. Though Fonseka claims he who the war with LTTE, he should understand it is with the concerted effort with all the service men who fought the war. He was greedy to contest the Presidential election n lost it badly. Besides, No other political party wud have accepted him. Without criticizing Sajith for donating buses to schools, he should be grateful to SJB to accommodate him. He should praise his leader for the social service he is doing such useful acts. Sajith should get rid of him of SJB to avoid friction inside the party. Otherwise Fonseka should go it along without making unnecessary comments about his party leader. Sajith should ignore such senseless comments and go on with his useful n worthy assistance to the people.
