Former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa will return back to the country on Saturday, a source close to him said.
The Former President fled the county following mass agitations calling for his resignation on July 9. He is currently in Thailand.
President Ranil Wickremesinghe made arrangements for his return upon a request by Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP). (Kelum Bandara)

The ‘new mental hospital’ is to be shifted to Hambantota. Angoda (Mulleriyawa New Town) is a suburb not a mental hospital. Yes, the mental hospital is located there. But there are plans to shift this mental hospital, due to the immense land value and having only a 10 to 15min travelling distance to Colombo 7.

The president who abandoned his post, did not complete a term in office should not be entitled to benefits due to a former president. The only purpose he is returning is to apply for an American residency.
