Everyone expects Gota to leave to step in…. Gota never leave as a looser acvording to him… How long should people suffer untill he wins?..

Jagath Leanage Friday, 01 July 2022 08:31 AM

Naturally . After signing a very good and viable agreement , that is LRT prproject , present government cancelled it even without refering Japanese government . So can they trust present regime furthermore ?

kukka Friday, 01 July 2022 12:18 PM

dont be upset. japan was not ready to give us hefty commission. we need to make namal baby the no 1 billionaire in asia. thats how we plan miracle of asia.

joshua Friday, 01 July 2022 08:32 AM

Correct Sir….until Rajapakshes are thrown out. However, the general public suffer because of this as power hungry Rajapakshes and their stooges who violate human rights, plunder, wont go. Our Friend Ranil is the guardian of these fellows. He stepped just before these fellows were to be thrown out.

Iwazaru Friday, 01 July 2022 08:35 AM

Thanks you Sir. Yes, the present administration is corrupt to the core and the IMF too is second thoughts. We need a fresh election and a new mandate of educated and honest people.

Buddhist Friday, 01 July 2022 08:38 AM

Form a true National Govt to get help. Of all countries the most longstanding friendly country Japan is refusing, imagine what other countries would say.

Milson Friday, 01 July 2022 08:48 AM

Lost a good friend!

Jim brown Friday, 01 July 2022 08:49 AM

Not surprised at all. Who on earth will give money when crooks who stole it are still in power? The only resolution to current crisis is to have a fresh start – regime change. Tired of seeing the same swindlers playing musical chairs.

Nimal Friday, 01 July 2022 08:53 AM

Japan needs a regime change, they are gentleman and dont like to work with looters.

Sahan Friday, 01 July 2022 08:54 AM

Japan and all Middle East have said they are not supporting rajapakse thieves and the racist government

Siripala Friday, 01 July 2022 08:59 AM

Well said, and I think this gentleman really well read the situation, with Thieves in the government, nothing will change.

sladesilv@gmail.com Friday, 01 July 2022 09:13 AM

Smart move as always from Japan.

S.T.Jayasingha Friday, 01 July 2022 09:16 AM

Well done Japan. Good advice to other donor countries.

ARS Friday, 01 July 2022 09:18 AM

It’s pay back time Gota.

trp32199 Friday, 01 July 2022 09:18 AM

Yes! in other words Gota Go Home!! The public must galvanise and mass protest for change

TNA FAIL Friday, 01 July 2022 09:21 AM

When the TNA losers become spokesperson for the Japanese embassy

Anton Friday, 01 July 2022 11:26 AM

What the hell are you going to do by knowing that? Will that do any good for the country?

roobarbie Friday, 01 July 2022 09:27 AM

At last one country has woken up to Rajapaksha and Ranil lies. Time someone other than Hamilton Bank told the truth to the world. Gotta Get Out before you and your crazy family does any more harm to our country, nation and people.

Foreigner Friday, 01 July 2022 09:30 AM

Smart decisions like this is why Japan is a rich country with worlds best passport and Sri Lanka is a country of beggars fleeing on fishing boats. Smart decision from Japan

TONI Friday, 01 July 2022 09:41 AM

SRI LANKA IS WELL KNOWN WORLDWIDE THAT THEY ARE UNDER A CHRONIC LEADERSHIP AND CANNOT GET ANY MORE SUPPORT

Jef Friday, 01 July 2022 09:42 AM

Very sad for the nation our politicians have mismanaged the entire financial system by Purposely putting the country in to crises and bank crupt if IMF AND OTHER COUNTRIES INSTITUTIONS NOT WILLING TO HELP how can we get to the bottom to investigate and make progress to recover lost financial its beyond crime few people benifited while majority continues the unbearable suffering continues sri Lanka need to gain confidence from our side world we can’t ignore this horrible mismanagement and do nothing

Anti-Corruption Friday, 01 July 2022 09:43 AM

Japan has taken a principled stand!

Fact Friday, 01 July 2022 09:45 AM

No place in the earth for murderous, child killer, racist etc. But only in Sl these modiyo people vote for these guys because they are same too. Otherwise they would not celebrate with milk rice when their own civilians died. We are now crystal clear that no aid from any country until they leave post.

Jude Friday, 01 July 2022 10:22 AM

No country or organization will help SL as Long as Gota in the helm !! Period !!

Amarasinham Sankapalan Friday, 01 July 2022 10:34 AM

Japan, if possible and have power, please help us to recover all stolen funds and invested overseas by Sri Lankan politicians (billions of dollars). These can solve the whole problem!!

Kumarae Friday, 01 July 2022 10:38 AM

I find this move by Japanese Govt perplexing in view of severe hardship being faced by citizens. They can consider the India assistance model which is mix of line of credit, and direct aid in form of food, medicine and fuel.

Mahila Wednesday, 06 July 2022 02:30 AM

Kuamarae, The Japanese government is executing the Mandate given by the Japanese People, who elected them – Do not tolerate Corruption and Nepotism!! Unlike the SL Government does – wishes of the President not the wishes of the people, which if GR was doing, there will be no more GGG??!! Selfish!

Percy Wijenayake Friday, 01 July 2022 10:58 AM

Donor countries must appoint their own nominee in Sri Lanka to monitor the financial assistance.

VJ Friday, 01 July 2022 10:58 AM

Political leaders should take advice from technocrats, professionals or follow best practices followed in developed countries. Should never seek advices from monks.

Sam Friday, 01 July 2022 11:03 AM

Thank you Japan, Wait until this unimaginably corrupted Rajapaksha regime is kicked out of power

anil Friday, 01 July 2022 11:05 AM

well done Japan. Hold the criminals accountable. Don’t bail them out

true Lankans Friday, 01 July 2022 11:27 AM

No one will help when a corrupt president and government rule the country. All disgusting politicians and corrupt governments must be removed and a new government of educated, dedicated, patriotic, and decent people must be formed. Only then will foreigners help build our country. Otherwise, we will all continue to live in hell.

Mandayan Friday, 01 July 2022 11:29 AM

A big headline news in the UK yesterday was, Sri Lankan President written to Putin! Gota is messing all and the evidence is here.

ANTON Friday, 01 July 2022 11:34 AM

THE ONLY SOLUTION: UNITE AND BOOT THE CORRUPT RAJAPAKSA FAMILY OUT PERMANENTLY!

numas Friday, 01 July 2022 11:47 AM

thank you JAPAN we agree with you the the reason why GOTA is still here is to loot all the money coming in

Janath Jay Friday, 01 July 2022 11:49 AM

I won’t put a penny in any bank when the management have a track record of mismanagement and corruption. This is including Sajith Premadasa’s clang too. Sri Lanka need new leader with a vision.

Roshanaly Friday, 01 July 2022 11:59 AM

Kumarae, is our President is worried about the Citizens?? If, so he should have resigned long time back. International has lost faith in our President.

Ranjan Friday, 01 July 2022 12:28 PM

It is obvious that the western aligned nations do not want a bar of the entire present government including Gota. Until these parasites vacate their positions and a fresh government with a mandate from the people is in power – people of SL will continue to suffer in all aspects.

Sas Friday, 01 July 2022 12:34 PM

Very true. The world community considers Srilanka’s present rulers corrupt.

Hubert Congreve Friday, 01 July 2022 12:36 PM

True, Rajapakshes family mis-used all the foreign aid in the past and developed their wealth hence this is the main reason why our country facing this crisis.

Roxton Schockman Friday, 01 July 2022 12:38 PM

Gota should step down then any country will render their support to SriLanka and we could over-come the present economic crisis.

Kamal Bolawansa Friday, 01 July 2022 12:39 PM

For heaven sake, Gota and Ranil get out and get lost, then not only Japan the entire world will help us.

Boru Na Atha Friday, 01 July 2022 12:40 PM

Mahinda and his nasty ministers earned almost 25% commission on every projects this is crystal clear and proved.

Mahila Wednesday, 06 July 2022 02:36 AM

When, so many patriotic citizens, made this pronouncement they were categorised as Unpatriotic Traitors of the country, scandalising a “War Winning Present and associates” or ‘Terrorist Rump’!! Ill-advised 6.9 million elected them back??!! To ensure starvation, shortage and death!!

Edie Friday, 08 July 2022 04:25 AM

Great! Keep your principles and ethics…….the Rajapksha’s are a clan to misuse all funds received for development of the country also they are commission takers fully corrupt.
