Good news. The country can move forward now. Let’s keep the names if the opposers in mind for the future.

A very predictive voting by the opposition. Basically oppose everything that the governemnt is trying to do to salvage the country from the mess it s in. So much of the debate time was wasted on debating whether the opposition leader should have been allowed to participate in the COPF discussions. He is not a member of that Committe and does he think that merely because he is the opposition leader he could barge and in basically take centre stage? The opposition has consistently demonstarated over the past year that it has no interest in putting shoulder to the wheel to assist in any measure it could to address the burning issues of the country. However it has not been short of serving platitudes and playing to the gallery, all the while seeking means toi undermine whatever remedial actions that are being brought forward by the government. Systems change should star with the opposition seeking to be genuinely constructive rather than merely playing lip service.

All those who absented must be taken to task by the public by not sending them next time. Then all those who voted too must not be sent next time. Debt restructuring is local lenders like the Banks giving further time to pay or wiping off the debts. It is more likely for them to be pressured to wipe them off. Recently they wiped off debts amounting to 50 Billion arising out of loans given to businessmen. Sad

Hello, don’t send the entire 225 coz they’re responsible of bankrupting the country!!

Jude Sunday, 02 July 2023 10:20 AM

Real owners of EPF/ETF have no opportunity to Make decisions. Decisions are made by officials appointed by the government or Central Bank. Pension funds like this elsewhere have an independent board for investment management. They are the ones who do the risk analysis and decide which places to invest after checking the risk appetite. They decentralize investments as much as possible to reduce risk. Usually they do not invest more than 10% in one place. But in our country?????? Quoting Manju Nissanka in You tube.

It’s very pathetic and ignorent of people who side with the current government. Politico steal from the middle class and ask the middle class to bail the country out. This is a disgrace. Real returns to the EPF holders are always been negative due to misappropriation of funds.

EPF got hit, but not the super rich bank owners.

Why members if cannot be in parliament, dumb Srilankans who vote good lessons.

Central bank chief and his family held responsible in the future for our banks. This restructuring banks decision decided by Mr.Ranil Wickramasinghe who has no people mandate from its own people and central bank chief.
